The concept of a SHADOW derailleur has evolved. It's slimmer, stronger, smarter, has a SHADOW-style chain stabilizer, and has a motor unit with Automatic Impact Recovery that returns to its original position after impact.

The DEORE M7200 12-speed mechanical rear derailleur carries forward all the new technology of the XT M8200 but utilizes a strong steel pulley cage in its long-cage construction. This adds nominal weight but also ups durability of an already-robust structure. The derailleur's wide link structure adds strength, and its wedge-shaped design helps dodge impacts on the trail. Pair with the HYPERGLIDE+ 12-speed 10-51T cassette and DEORE M6200 shifter for a stout, reliable, fast-shifting drivetrain suitable for all trail rides.
